More often I see friends around me shopping online. And let’s be honest: awfully handy course! But if you ask me there is nothing like visiting a real store. Whether it is a fashion boutique, concept store or vintage shop. Just to stroll around, feel and see everything. Last year several new shops opened up in our city and in this blog we share the 15 best shops in Amsterdam of 2015!

We already knew that there are several nice spots in the Jordaan. But the Jordaan has become even better with concept store Robins Hood! Here they sell crazy urban items. Authentic products, preferably locally produced and fair trade.

Recently opened: the third location of All the Luck in the World! Located in Amsterdam East and now with a coffee bar! For the new location, the owners got inspired by the beauty of nature. So expect furniture made by both young and established designers who work with natural materials.

Sometimes you want to shop for your body! At beauty salon and store Apivita you can get a facial treatments but also buy nice things for your face, hair and body. Here they work with natural products and it is much better for your skin because no artificial additives are involved.

Many nice spots in West, but what was missing was a nice store to buy gifts. Luckily we now have Marvin! Here they sell all kinds of kitchen stuff. Delicious olive oil, bubbles, tea jugs, kitchen aprons and nice cards. And if you’re here at the shop… they serve coffee from Bocca and you can enjoy lunch from a buffet!

They opened not to long ago on the Raadhuisstraat: We Are Labels! A fashion store where both men and women can take their chances. Here you will find luxury basics of mainly international brands. And all of good quality, fine fabrics and both trendy and classic items. Think of brands like Cheap Monday, Dr. Denim, Modström and Second Female.

A small perfumery specialised in very unique scents that are not mainstream and are hard to find. With scents of which you can be 99% sure no one else at a party or dinner will be wearing the same.

One of the best neighbourhoods to shop is the Nine Streets. OU. Boutique by Val + Rose is a new store there. A mini-department store with comfortable and chic brands like Amator, Love Stories and Alchemist. Extra fun: here they also sell clothes for the little ones. And if that wasn’t enough… OU. is also a city street spa!

In De Pijp concept store Kolifleur is nice to go to. Here they sell second-hand (design) clothing, jewelry, bags from young Dutch designers, vintage furniture and vases. All items are inspired by cities like London, Berlin and Stockholm.

Let’s be honest: the name TITS doesn’t seem like a fit name for a cool store. But did you know that T.I.T.S. stands for ‘this is the shit’? And TITS is the shit because the store is full of cool fashion items, luxury basics, accessories and beauty products. So a fun concept store in West! Shopping with your boyfriend? He can rest in the “boyfriend-corner” while he drinks a cup of coffee of Lot Sixty One!

A concept store where everything that’s for sale is sustainable. And that sustainable is not just for boring people becomes clear here at Geitenwollenwinkel. It’s a name that doesn’t really translate in English. The name of the store kind of refers to those people who wear woollen socks in their birckenstocks. Well, the GeitenwollenWinkel is all but boring!
