Donnies Amsterdam: for your ultimate döner cravings

17 January 2018

DONNieS AMSTERDAM IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR ULTIMATE döner CRAVINGS!

After the taco, falafel and the baked potato is was only a matter of time for the next dish to have a make-over. Because fast food turned into gourmet fast food – the official term for this imago-changing of dishes, is the foodie trend of the moment .And that’s why it’s time to add just another one to this category. Donnies Amsterdam has been a resident of the Gerard Douplein for quite some time, but has now moved! To Café Struik, situated on the Rozengracht. Starting this January they’ll take of the kitchen, so that means you can get your daily döner cravings there from now on. Café Struik is open till late, which means you can still order a nice Donnies after a couple of drinks!

The Donnies sandwiches are made with quality ingredients, they only use Better Life Chicken, that is made by their own recipe at the local farmer. Even the homemade garlic sauce is made on yoghurt. And another plus: they also serve the vegetarian variant with chicken from the vegetarian butcher. Nice! And you can order more than just the classic sandwich with garlic sauce. The brothers behind Donnies have also thought of more options. For example, a döner with pumpkin and goat cheese, with mango, a spicy chili and one with curry… In cities like Berlin and Rio de Janeiro this has become as normal as a classic sandwich with cheese and we’ve also seen it on the menu at Meneer Nieges. Wanna bet that in five years a döner lunch or dinner will be a normal thing? We hope so!

Tip: In case you don’t feel like leaving the house, you can also order a Donnies right to your doorstep!
