De Foodhallen Amsterdam West: indoor food market

6 July 2014

Amsterdam gets its own permanent food market: De Foodhallen!

Finally! De Foodhallen in Amsterdam opens the doors fall 2014.   All foodies love indoor food markets! With the Borough Market in London, Chelsea Market in NY, Mercado San Anton in Madrid and Mercado Central in Valencia as great examples Amsterdam finally gets an equivalent.

De Foodhallen will be located in the cool De Hallen complex in Amsterdam West. Over 16.000 m2 where two restaurants, a cinema, a library and some smaller stores will open the doors. And in the fall of 2014 a indoor food market will be added to that list. Yay!

De Foodhallen announced that there is space available for ca. 25 restaurant entrepreneurs to open a food stall that will have an industrial look and is like a mini version of their existing restaurant concept. Sound pretty good!

I’m already thinking of a list of restaurants and food shops like: Headfirst Coffee Roasters, Bar Brouw, &Samhoud Streetfood, The Fat Dog, Boca’s, Pink Flamingo, SLA, Stach and many more that would fit perfectly. Can’t wait to find out who will open a market stall at De Foodhallen in Amsterdam!
