Christmas

Why you really have to send a card for the holidays this year

18 December 2015

It’s so simple, but so special: to receive a real card in the mail!

One of the nicest things about coming back after a journey is the moment I walk into the office. That’s where nice parcels, letters and cards are waiting for my attention, and it is always a surprise what’s in it or what it is about. Last week, when I came back from Cape Verde it went the same, but this time there was a handwritten picture postcard with it. So nice! I got this instant happiness over me, because there is nothing more personal and special than that.

And that is when I started to think… Do you sometimes bust yourself on sending a what’ s app or a Facebook message to someone instead of a real card? Think about it, HOW MUCH FUN it was to receive a written card from someone. It means that someone is taking the time to write you a personal wish or note.

However I must admit I’ve done it the easy way myself too. But for this year my good habit for Christmas is to send all my (business) relations a real card with a New Years wish on it! To thank them that we created my dream to become an entrepreneur, together. And to send all my dear friends a personal Christmas card. With the best wishes for the new year and hopefully more time to see each other instead of being at work all the time. Just to thank everyone personally, because there is no better time to do that then at this time of year.

Another reason to send a card in particularly this month: the December stamps of PostNL are on sale. Be on time though, with your handwritten cards, because the busy celebration season can delay the delivery of your cards. Make sure  – note to self – your Christmas card doesn’t arrive after Christmas. To make sure your card is properly send, you better seal the envelope and not use too little cards. However they are the cutest, these tiny ones get easily lost in the mail.

So who is gonna be on your mind this year with Christmas or New Years? Send them a real card!
