Discover: the most trendy & upcoming neighbourhoods in the world!
Because I travel a lot, I always try to stay up to date on the latest hotspots, lowspots, must visits and more. When I read about a new upcoming hipster neighbourhood in a city, I always make a note in my Evernote (this app is so great!) for the day that I will visit the area on one of my trips. This way I’ve gathered quite a lot of upcoming neighbourhoods already. In my new book Wanderlust I will tell you more about the cities and destinations that I’ve visited, but I often get asked to share tips and information about areas that I haven’t visited (yet). So this is one of the reasons why I made this list, with the most trendy and upcoming neighbourhoods around the world. These areas are full of cool stores, restaurants and other spots that you should visit. What is the Williamsburg of Shoreditch of every city? In this blog I will tell you all about these must visit hipster neighbourhoods!

HIPSTER neighboUrhoods IN ISTANBUL (TURkey)
Most of us know Istanbul from her beautiful palaces and her glorious culture. You can do a lot of sightseeing in this city, but I like it even more to wander through the old city streets, looking for coffee shops and other trendy lowspots.

Manhattan is one of the most touristic areas of New York City, but trust me, there are still some undiscovered cool neighbourhoods in this city. Take the metro to Brooklyn if you really want to go hip!

It’s no secret that we love Bangkok at Yourlbb. This large city surprises me every time. Some areas can be poor and dirty, but others have the most amazing and luxurious rooftops and restaurants.

Tel Aviv is such a vibrant city. Wheither you want to go clubbing or dining, don’t forget to visit the neighbourhoods while staying in Tel Aviv!

Yourlbb’s Bianca has been there, but this city is still on top of my bucketlist. Rio de Janeiro is a very divers city and when you know where to go for the best food and drinks, you’ll definetly fall in love with this city!

Vancouver is located near water and surrounded by mountains. You should stay a couple of days if your traveling through Canada.

When I was younger, I never really liked Barcelona. But I’ve gotten to know the city and have fallen in love with it. I try visit it once a year for an urban beach holiday.

Budapest can be a little bit grey in the winter, but I love it in the summer. Go for drinks and bites at the super cool ruine bars!

Woodstock used to be a shabby area with a dubious image. Today, it’s the place to be for the Neighbourgoods Market, where you can buy authentical, local products. But Cape Town has a lot of cool neighbourhoods you should visit!

You will never be bored when you’re visiting the neighbourhoods Norrebro and Vesterbro in Copenhagen. Norrebro is known for her vibrant night life and you can eat so good in Vesterbro. Don’t skip the Meatpacking District ;-)

In Hong Kong we ate a bao burger for the first time, and it was great! Don’t skip these areas when you’re in Hong Kong.

Kazimierz is known as the historic Jewish quarter of Krakau; Jews were forced to live in this area. Kazimierz is therefore part of cultural heritage. This unique area has a rich history and there is still a lot to do and visit.

Londen is one of those cities that you want to visit a couple times a year, just to check out all of the cool new hotspots and trendy areas.

Fitzroy is one of the most popular hipster neighbourhoods of Melbourne; organic food is totally normal in this area and a lot of creatives and artists live here. Northcote is also becoming a hipster hotspot.

The neighbourhood Condesa in Mexico City is known for her gorgeous art-deco architecture, while the architecture in Roma Norte is very classic and detailed. Both neighbourhoods are worth visiting and since Mexico City is huge, you can easily stay here for a couple of weeks.

There is more than the Eiffeltower; Paris has many undiscovered areas. Wander around in these neighbourhoods and your city trip will definetly be a success!
