7 questions x Sunny Jansen aka DJ Covergirl Sunny

In the new stories series “Sunday 7” Your Little Black Book interviews special Amsterdammers about their Amsterdam. Sunny and I always see eachother at THE stylish parties of Amsterdam. She’s a creative multi-talent! An icon in Amsterdam’s nightlife scene and you probably know here as DJ Covergirl Sunny. Sunny spins records at fashion and lifestyle events all over the world. On her website sunnyjansen.com or via @Sunny_Jansen_ on Instagram and Twitter you can follow her inspiration on fashion, lifestyle, art, people and music!

Most beautiful spot in Amsterdam:
“My home at the Silodam with view over the IJ. The water and skyline give me so much rest in my busy life. Sometimes there are cruise ships or I can hear a festival at the NDSM wharf. It makes me realise that I live in an amazing city with an international vibe. The morning views are the best. I can watch the city waking up!”

Amsterdam bucket-list…
“I would love to DJ at the Stenen Hoofd some day. Organise some kind of neighbourhood festival. There are so many festivals in Amsterdam and people that live there often complain about the music. At the Silodam and Westerpark you can hear the NDSM and Westerpark events. I think it’s time to do something back for the people that don’t like to go to these massive parties.”

Early bird
“I love to shop at the 9 streets and the Jordaan. And if I have to go to the city center I go early… VERY early.”

Drinks
“I DJ at so many events… in my free time I like to go to hotel bars. The international vibe there… love it! The vibe and people are different there then what you usually see in Amsterdam. My favourites are Conservatorium, SkyLounge Amsterdam and Hotel de Hallen. My drink? Always Vodka Cranberry.”

You can wake me up for…
“My fav food is rendang with white rice and veggies. Very simple! I make it myself or go to Kantijl Tijger for it.”

Paris Je T’aime
“The restaurant of Hotel Costes in Paris is great. The vibe, interior design and people… it’s perfect!”

Dream trip…
“It has been a while since my last trip to New York and next spring I want to rediscover it all. Especially Brooklyn is on my bucket-list.”
