Paella Valencia

Paella in Valencia: take a cooking class!

2 March 2015

My favourite Spanish dish: paella!

As a little girl I always looked forward to the summer holidays. Seas of time, sunny weather

and … paella! On Spanish holiday destinations and food markets paella still make we very happy. A large pan on the table, a nice bottle of wine, and you’ll have a great dinner. Unfortunately, I could not cook paella myself. So my friends had to settle for an empty table and a bottle of wine ;-)

Paella is a typically Valencian dish. So when I was at Valencia I off course went to a restaurant to eat traditional paella! At Escuela de Arroces y Paella Valencia I didn’t only eat paella though. Cook Jaime Cros also taught me how to make it myself!

Ingredients for the best paella

I normally eat this rice dish with seafood. In Valencia they eat paella with ingredients from their own region: chicken, rabbit, snails and various vegetables. Step by step, cook Jaime showed me how to make the most delicious paella I’ve ever had. First you go to the market to do some shopping, and after you prepared the meal it’s time to eat! The recipe I of course can not reveal, but do you like paella as much as I do? You should definitely go to Valencia!
