20 x the best oysters in Amsterdam to eat with your friends

26 January 2022

these are our favourite spots to eat oysters in amsterdam!

Do you love oysters just as much as we do? Whether you eat one, two or half a dozen, there’s no such thing as too many oysters. Okay, sometimes they are a bit difficult to open, but it’s totally worth the struggle. Of course accompanied by a glass of wine or bubbles, it really is one of my favourite seafoods! When I’m in New York it always makes me so happy to see oyster happy hour there every day. Hopefully we get that in Amsterdam too in the future. For now I listed my favourite bars and restaurants to eat oysters in Amsterdam. Enjoy!

20 x the best spots to eat oysters in amsterdam

Ox & Bucks: Ox & Bucks is your go to place on the Zuidas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a drink. You can sit here all day long, alone or together. Also for oysters you’re at the right spot. Perfect at the end of a long working day!

George: we already kind of know what to take at George; the caeser salad, lobster, the burger or a plate full of oysters. Do you ever get the feeling that you’re in Paris when you walk through their door?

Le Big Fish: Montaditos, hotdogs, burgers, wok, you name it and they’ve got it at the Foodhallen. All the way in the back you’ll find Le Big Fish, the oyster destination that you don’t want to miss!

The Seafood Bar: there’s no need to say that The Seafood Bar cannot be forgotten on this list. Now they already have three locations in town, so there’s always one nearby ;-) Besides oysters they also serve a lot of different fish and shells here. Which one are you going to choose? Oysters, lobsters or fruits de mer? Really nice: they often have special events with oysters for only € 1,- on Friday!

Brut de Mer: eat oysters like a Parisienne? That’s possible at Brut de Mer on the Gerard Douplein. Here they serve oysters, bubbles and coquilles with cauliflower (exciting combination!). Have a seat on the cosy terrace, order some oysters to start, and you’ll have the best night!

Barrica: the perfect way to start your evening is with a plate of oysters. After that try the steak tartare, it’s really good. Same as all the other dishes by the way.

Stork: In an old industrial building in Amsterdam-North you’ll find restaurant Stork. A place where trends and classic elements are perfectly combined. On the menu you’re given a very extensive choice of oysters, but other seafood as well. And a beautiful view!

Viscafé De Gouden Hoek: not really into a chique night but want to eat good and affordable fish? Go to Viscafé de Gouden Hoek next to theWesterpark. You can get fish & chips, Dutch shrimp croquettes, or oysters.

Razmataz: have you heard of salty Sundays at Razmataz? We just missed the first edition of one of our favourite events in Amsterdam, but the next one will come soon. You can order oysters for only € 1,-.

Mossel & Gin: Mussels, mussels, gin & tonics and more gin & tonics. That’s what you get at Mossel & Gin. Plus a huge terrace, a unique location and good vibes. And that’s not all: they also have ceviches, lobsters and oysters. The oysters come in three variations: naturel, oriental and hogwash!

Café Panache: This rough and industrial place in Amsterdam West serves the best bar bites and dishes to share. Oysters for two please! I immediately got excited from the Pulpo Haze and steak tartare as well, so tasty!
