Social Monday update: a slow weekend!

3 February 2014

Last weekend was a perfect slow one for me. I’m never sick but last week I had a nasty infected gall bladder (Yak!). With the right meds I was on my feet again in no time but no partying for me this weekend :-). I had a lovely easy weekend with my mum visiting and going to the movies with my love. You can follow my daily adventures via social media here: Twitter (@yourLBB) or Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest at ‘yourLBB’

Here’s my social Monday update to kick off week 6

1) Spending a lot of time at home I was never so happy with my comfy and warm Mou boots that I use as über fancy slippers in the house. Can’t wait to wear them in the snow next year when I go skiing again!
2) Together with my mom I went to the Barbie exhibit at TassenMuseum Hendrikje. So cute to see little girls in the age of 4 to 60 visiting the museum to visit the bday bash of their favourite childhood doll.
3) My favourite new top from my spring collection. A St. Tropez style white and blue striped short shirt I like to wear with a blouse under it. I’m kinda digging everything that has the navy looks at the moment. Can’t help it! (PS: the shirt is H&M and super cheap).
4) High Tea at Tassenmuseum Hendrikje! I treated my mum to a high tea on our mother-daughter day in Amsterdam. The high tea comes with delicious cakes, sweets macarons and several savoury bites. And of course… unlimited tea!
5) Date night with the boyfriend. No cocktails for me this weekend but a quiet evening going to the early movie on a Saturday night. We went to see the movie Wolf of Wallstreet. A must see! It’s about a broker on Wallstreet and the wild life that came with that job in the 80’s/90’s ;-).
6) Sunday’s are for brunch! Since I could really use the vitamins we went to LITE/DARK at the Utrechtsestraat. In case you haven’t tried this hotspot yet… go there asap to taste some of the delicious sandwiches. My favourites? The avocado, spinach and goat cheese grilled sandwich and the quesadillas with mango, tomato and spinach (the one in the picture).

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun or discovered a new hotspot I should know about?

PS: more hotspots are in the Amsterdam Little Black Book. A city guide to Amsterdam with the best restaurants, shops and things to do. Always new addresses coming up so check out your online Little Black Book daily for the latest hotspots in town!
