Rijsel Amsterdam East: a true restaurant hotspot where it’s all about food!

10 November 2012

Restaurant Rijsel Amsterdam East; my all time favourite hotspot!

Rijsel Amsterdam is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in East. It got lots of very good reviews by the food critics in Holland! Some people mistake the name for Rijssel, but I can assure you the name is Rijsel Amsterdam. Named after the industrial town Lille, called Rijsel as a nick-name by the French. Rijsel Amsterdam is located in a former domestic science school and with a semi vintage interior and the huge open kitchen you feel at home immediately. Start the night with a lovely glass of cremant. At Rijsel they serve a tasteful 3-course menu that changes regularly. I enjoyed eating there lots of times and the food is always very pure and authentic. On the side they serve a simple salad and baked potatoes. At Rijsel Amsterdam you experience cooking with the best ingredients! A reservation is a must. Rijsel Amsterdam belongs to the ‘Nouveau Ruig’ cuisine, so called by Parool journalist Hiske Versprille, meaning rugged and affordable food (made by men with beards ;-)!). Representing this scene together with the restaurant Fa. Speijkervet, Wilde Zwijnen, Hotel de Goudfazant, Gebr. Hartering and Aan de Amstel.
