5 September 2017

the best new hotels from Brooklyn to the Lower East Side

Of all the cities in the world, New York will always remain one of my favourites. I just returned from my (twice a) yearly trip and during this trip I stayed in the most beautiful new boutique hotels in New York. In this blog I’ll line up five new hotels that you’ll definitely will want to know! Would you like some more tips on The Big Apple? In that case check out our extensive New York Travel Guide with over more than 100 hotspots!

5 x new boutique hotels in new york you’ll want to know

Public Hotel: Unfortunately this hotel wasn’t open yet during our trip, but luckily we got a chance to take a peek at the rooftop during our week in New York. This hotel is situated on Chrystie Street in the Lower East Side and it’s without a doubt the hottest talk at the moment in Manhattan. It probably also has something to do with the fact that the owner of the hotel used to be the owner of the iconic Studio 54. The interior of the hotel is warm and chique, it has several restaurants and an amazing rooftop. To get there you do have to make a reservation application in advance. And with a little bit of luck it’ll get accepted and before you know it you’re there enjoying brunch, dinner or a cocktail. Dress to impress! This is one of the most upscale new boutique restaurants in New York.

1 hotel Brooklyn Bridge Hotel: The Dumbo district in Brooklyn keeps getting better if you ask me. And the opening of the new 1 Hotel Brooklyn definitely has something to do with that! The rooftop is honestly amazing. Make sure to get here on time in order to get a table. To reserve a table is only possible with a minimum spend of 100 Dollar and because you can’t really have a long, elaborate dinner there I wouldn’t really recommend that. The rooms of this hotel are beautifully decorated and are equipped with everything you need. There’s even a filtered faucet so you can drink right from the tap. I haven’t seen this anywhere else in New York, but I think it’s very hospitable. The interior of the lobby is also very neat and a great place to relax after a day in the city with a glass of wine. During the summer the hotel has an amazing rooftop pool where you can easily spend the entire day!

The Williamsburg Hotel: Wythe Avenue has been transformed to the hotel street of Williamsburg. We used to always stay at the Wythe Hotel, but the more affordable The Williamsburg Hotel opened its doors now and the style kind of reminds me of the Wythe Hotel. Modern urban rooms, rental bikes and a roof that’s, very excitingly, still being finished. I’m really curious as to what will come of that! A restaurant, rooftop bar or a pool? The next we’re in New York I’m guessing the entire hotel is finished and I’ll tell you all about it!

The William Vale Hotel: There’s no doubt about the fact that this hotel currently has the most beautiful rooftop bar of New York. Even if you’re not staying at the William Vale Hotel a visit to Westlight can’t be omitted from your bucket list. And the pool is truly amazing as well if you’re going to New York in the middle of the summer! Our room had a small balcony that had a view of Williamsburg and Greenpoint and from where we could also see the Empire State Building. So amazing! One minor downside: I really didn’t like the interior of the room. Too much art, not a very clearly defined style and as a whole is just wasn’t it. So make sure to pay good attention to the different styles they have and make your preference clear when you make a reservation!

The Hoxton New York: And last but not least… At my fifth tip it’s not possible to book a room yet but  if you’re travelling to New York in the end of 2017 you might want to keep this one in mind. Trust me! Last month The Hoxton Paris already opened its doors and the good news is that The Hoxton New York will open soon in the trendy Williamsburg in Brooklyn. You probably understand where I plan on staying during my next trip to New York! This will for sure be one of the most beautiful new boutique hotels in New York!
