Mercados in Valencia: the best mercados in the Spanish city

Mercados in Valencia are super fun to visit during your next city trip! They are the typical Spanish food markets that we, the Dutch people, love! It’s the perfect place to meet local people and buy fresh fruits and vegetables, a piece of meat, fish or herbs. But be aware: mercados make your mouth water because of all the fresh and homemade food! There are several mercados you can visit in Valencia.

Yourlbb visited the three best mercados of Valencia:

1. Mercado Central Valencia

Mercado Central is the biggest indoor market in Europe! You’ll find this market in the old centre of Valencia. And believe me: here you can walk around for hours! There is so much delicious food to see, smell and taste. Try the Spanish ham and manchego cheese; they are a specialty of Valencia. And buy some oranges at Mercado Central; Valencia is famous for its oranges!

Mercator Colon Valencia

2. Mercado Colon Valencia

In the neighbourhood Eixample in Valencia you’ll find Mercado Colon. In the morning it’s a nice fish market. The market is a bit smaller than Mercado Central but just as much fun to visit! In the afternoon several trendy hotspots open their doors, where you can have lunch, drink coffee and eat all kinds of cakes.

Mercato Ruzafa Valencia

3. Mercado de Ruzafa Valencia

Mercado de Ruzafa is found in the artistic neighbourhood of Ruzafa. You can go here for your daily portion of fruits and vegetables. This market is less touristy than Mercado Central so ideal if you just want a relax morning at the market.

There are even more mercados in Valencia then those three. On my visit-list for next time! Do you recommend any?
