Lokaal Espresso Rotterdam: good local coffee, what else?

On the first look Lokaal Espresso Rotterdam seemed like any other cafe with a sleek interior. That however isn’t the case. Not only can you get some good coffee and food, but in most cases nearly everything you eat there comes from local suppliers. They get their coffee from Giraffe Coffee Roasters, a coffee supplier that really is in Rotterdam. Lokaal Espresso Rotterdam also sell homemade pies and sandwiches but also Ketelbink beer, beer that is of course brewed in Rotterdam.

Coffee can also be ordered for take-away, so that you can enjoy your coffee while you look around in the neighbourhood. Lokaal Espresso Rotterdam is set at Station Hofplein, a lively neighbourhood that used to be a train station but is now filled up with all kinds of interesting businesses. And if you’re done checking out that neighbourhood, you can also take a stroll on the Luchtsingel. That’s a beautiful wooden design bridge that’s built to attract more visitors. I think that purpose is definitely accomplished. Aside from the fact that the Hofplein can now be reached easily from the Central Station and other locations, the Luchtsingel has an amazing view on central Rotterdam!
