Locals Amsterdam: for the best Dutch souvenirs!

7 November 2014

Check out concept store Locals Amsterdam at the Spuistraat

Do you know concept store Locals in Amsterdam? A very nice store on the Spuistraat between the Kalverstraat and the Nine Streets. When you walk from Zara to the Nine Streets you can’t miss Locals. I think I walked by this store over 100 times. Always in a hurry! And finally I had time to go in and browse around.

Dutch design!

Locals Amsterdam sells the coolest must haves, from jewellery to leather bags and accessories for your home. All items are made by Dutch designer. Most of the products are even produced in The Netherlands. A perfect souvenir! Really like the concept of this store. Owner Suzanne also sells her own jewellery line in the store. And trust me! You want to take it all home ;-).

Oldschool bags!

I bought a quirky blue leather classic schoolbag by the Amsterdam brand Oldschool. A true eye-catcher! Most products at Locals are handmade and unique. Suzanne curates the collection for Locals and I have to say… this girl has good taste!

Pom s scarves from Amsterdam

Nice to know: Locals sells the largest collection of POM scarves in Amsterdam. So if these are your style Locals is a place you should check out. I’m going back for some Christmas shopping soon. Love the idea and story that everything is designed in The Netherlands.

Street art at Locals

And something else only a few people know… on the walls in the alley next to Locals (the Raamsteeg) you can find street art. An urban intervention, as it is called, of a human face. One of the discoveries when I did a street art tour a few weeks ago. Just look up and you can spot it too!
