these are the best ice cream in amsterdam for on a sunny day

Summer is here! And what do we like to do when the sun shines and the temperatures screams for flirty dresses? We have a walk and stroll through the city. And what completes such an afternoon like that? An icecream! It doesn’t matter if the sun shines or not, we’re always craving ice creams. But where can we find the best ones? We listed the best ice cream in Amsterdam for you!

14 x ice ceam in amsterdam to cool down with this summer

Tofani: Recommended by our lovely followers, Tofani on the Kloveniersburgwal at the Nieuwmarkt. Ice cream made by real Italians. Make sure you get the one with pistache and coconut!

IJsboutique: The IJsboutique in Old-South is everything you expect from a boutique: quality with a touch of glamour. In this cool and fresh ice cream shop you can for example get a strawberry sorbet made with 50% fresh strawberries and the coconut lime ice cream made with fresh coconut.

Van Soest: For chocolate and ice cream you have to visit Vas Soest. But honestly, on warm days we all prefer ice cream over chocolate right? Artisanal ice cream in many flavours. Lemon cheesecake, yes please!

Pasticceria: It’s almost impossible to walk by the window of Pasticceria without yielding for one of the treats. The happy coloured macarons are just screaming your name. And if you look further, you immediately see the seductive counter with ice cream. Are you going for the red velvet or peanut caramel flavour?

IJscuypje: Perhaps needless to say, because who doesn’t know IJscuypje? What started as one ice cream shop has now grown up to fourteen different shops. The succes? The pure raw materials such as fresh milk for their ice cream. Don’t go here for one scoop of ice cream, just choose two ;-) And try the mango!

Pisa: Going to Pisa in Italy for the best ice cream? No, let’s bring Pisa to Amsterdam ;-) This ice cream spot is close to the RAI and has enough flavours to choose from. One scoop of lemon ice please, yum!

IJsmanschap: The only popsicle bar in this list! IJsmanschap only serves ice lollipops and that’s why this shop truly is a must visit. All the popsicles look like little pieces of art and are de-li-cious! Yum.

Metropolitan Deli: This ice cream shop on the Red Light District is what you call ice cream heaven. Kees, the owner of the shop, is known for his always surprising flavors. Bacon ice cream? It exists! Our favourite? The ice cream with tangerine flavour.

Massimo IJsfabriek: Get some ice cream at Massimo IJsfabriek in the Pijp and go to the Sarphatipark for a walk next. Can you imagine a more relaxing day? Many flavours and some vegan options too. We love it!

Monte Pelmo: Monte Pelmo in the Jordaan is one of the most famous ice cream shops in town. People are in line to get a ice cream here and all we can say: it’s worth the wait. Here they have cheesecake strawberry, ricotta and many more flavours. Can’t make up your mind? Just choose them all ;-)

Het IJsboefje: The ice cream of the IJsboefje on the Beukenplein in East is supplied by above mentioned Monte Pelmo, need we say more? And that’s not even all. Because here they serve 28 (!) different flavours of milkshakes!

Mezzo: And there’s another great ice cream shop in Amsterdam East. On the Dapperplein you find Mezzo. Besides self made, craft ice cream you can also go here for delicious lunch and good coffee. Oh, they also have bonbons and different toppings. Hm, Mezzo has actually everything you desire ;-)

Jordino: It’s impossible to miss the window of Jordino during your strolling on the Haarlemmerstraat. The window is always filled with bright coloured art pieces made of chocolate or marzipan. No wonder, because Jordino is not just a ice cream shop. It’s also a patisserie and chocolate shop. Can you resist the temptation?

Juicebrothers x Van Leeuwen: The very first vegan ice cream bar opened her doors at the Haarlemmerplein, in the Juicebrothers. The vegan ice cream is from Van Leeuwen, that’s founded in New York. Ice cream made with pure ingredients and no crazy ads. That’s how we like it! We’re already on our way to get an ice cream.
