Discover the lesser known hoods of Brooklyn in New York!

New York does not only exist of Manhattan. I repeat: NOT only Manhattan.  If you only stay here you’ll be sure to miss a lot of hotspots. So if you have an extra couple of days go and check out some of the other neighbourhoods in Brooklyn and Queens. Hmm… Might be a good idea if I set up a guide and map for you guys. Don’t want you to miss out on all the best spots…

Ok. Yeah. So. Best is to do this by bike. You see more, and you don’t get tired at all. Which means more energy for partying at night. :)

Today we are checking out some parts of Brooklyn. Yesterday we were in DUMBO (for more on DUMBO read this blog) and today we bike about 10 minutes further and we end up in Brooklyn Heights, Caroll Gardens and Cobble Hill.

Giving into my sugar craving suddenly seems like a great idea so we stop at Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain.
This used to be an old pharmacy but now they’ve turned it into a bar. Not a bar where they serve beer or cocktails. No at Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain they serve ice cream, egg cream, sandwiches and pies. Well, so much for my “healthy day”… “One Great Pumpkin and an Egg Cream please!” Cool place. Look at the details. Love it!
Burp. Feeling sick now…

This neighborhood it really beautiful. Love the brownstone buildings. Must be expensive… We bike from Caroll gardens back to Cobble Hill.

If you’re into Thai food then you’ll like Pok Pok NY. If this spot is too crowded you can always head to their new 2nd place Whiskey Soda Lounge. It’s just one block away. A couple of months ago we were at Pok Pok Phat Thai at the Lower East Side (all of the same owner). The pat thai was so good there that we wanted to try this cool spot at Cobble Hill also. Love the vibe, the people, and most important the food. Their vinegar soda, or whatever it was, not so much. But as for the food, it was all tasty and fresh. We’re going back there to try the laab (don’t tell me you never tried laab) soon, then we know for sure if these guys really know Thai food.
