Hemelse Modder Amsterdam: an all time favourite

27 August 2014

Date night at Hemelse Modder in Amsterdam

Restaurant Hemelse Modder in Amsterdam city center is a true gem.  It’s a perfect restaurant to go for dinner with your love or a group. It’s located close to Amsterdam Central Station so very central. This part of Amsterdam city center is very quite and there aren’t a lot of restaurants. This makes Hemelse Modder a neighbourhood favourite!

The interior design at Hemelse Modder is cosy like a livingroom. With wooden tables, vintage chairs and art on the walls. When the weather is nice make sure to reserve a table in the beautiful inner garden. Super romantic and something only few people know of!

Did you know that Hemelse Modder has a Gault Millau? The menu is seasonal and always good. The steak tartare is a must try! For the main course I had the vegetarian dish. A beet wellington (no, this is not a grammar mistake!). We end the night with a beautiful selection of cheese.

Eventhough Hemelse Modder is around for 30 years already it’s still a great restaurant in the city center. Because it’s an all time favourite it’s added to Your Little Black Book so you can check it out too.
