Volkshotel Amsterdam: new boutique hotel at Wibautstraat!

14 May 2014

The Volkshotel will be the new hotspot in town.

The Volkshotel Amsterdam is now open at Wibautstraat in Amsterdam East. The huge building was once home to one of the most important newspapers in The Netherlands: De Volkskrant. De Volkshotel will be a multidisciplinary building with a restaurant, bar, club, a speakeasy bar, co-work space and a spa and hot-tubs on the roof. Club Canvas at the 7th floor gets a huge panorama bar with a sound-system so good that it will become the new it-place to go dancing this summer.

The downstairs lobby at the Volkshotel will be the most busy place of the hotel. With a coffee bar and co-work spaces for young creatives and freelancers. The coffee bar has a hug terrace and is also perfect for drinks in the afternoon. Another cool thing is that the Volkshotel will open a store with selected items of the creatives that partner with the hotel. I LOVE this cosmopolitan approach! Reminds me of the ACE hotel in London and Hotel Daniel in Vienna.

The opening of the Volkshotel is going to be spectacular! With a mini festival and parties in all the new restaurants and bars. I can’t wait until the 27th!
