Foodie alert For lOVers OF authentiC Italian Food!
I couldn’t be happier that Ristorente Pepenero has opened up in Amsterdam Oost. An authentic Italian enoteca around the corner from my house – in walking distance, no less! Now, don’t expect any pizzas on the menu here, instead they serve up delicious Italian dishes made with authentic Italian ingredients. For example, when I took my guy to Ristorante Enoteca Pepenero Amsterdam for the first time, the owner Marco told me that the delivery guys bring the ‘groceries’ right over form Italy a few times a week. It’s not about being hip at Ristorante Pepenero (which is on the Eerste Oosterparkstraat on the corner of Weesperzijde) – it’s about good food and great wines. Reserve a table around eight-thirty so you can stay at the table the whole night. Start off with a glass of prosecco and close out the night with a bit of limoncello or, even better, a scroppino made according to tradition, right at your table. So good!
Menu x Ristorante Enoteca Pepenero
The menu at this new Italian restaurant in Amsterdam is varied and filled with fantastic dishes. If you’d like to share an appetiser then the antipasto misto alla Pepe Nero is definitely the way to go! The eggplant is so good that I still think about it; same goes for the vitello and the smoked mozzarella. Make sure you don’t eat too much during the day, because you’ve got to do as the Italians do and have some pasta as a side. The spaghetti al Parmigiano con pomodorini is delicious! They top it off with fresh parmesan cheese right at the table. Haven’t seen that in a while! After that, we ordered the filetto di manzo with a black truffle sauce. OH MY. AND it’s around the corner from my house. It’s perfect, because sometimes you just want more options than pizza when you’re in the mood for Italian food. By the time we got our scroppino, the whole restaurant was full. To make sure you get a table, you should call ahead and reserve at 020-6633276. Enjoy!
