Omelegg Amsterdam: first omeletterie in town!

25 February 2014

Eggs, eggs and more eggs at Omelegg Amsterdam

Omelegg Amsterdam is a very nice all day breakfast hotspot at De Pijp. It’s open for a few months now and I finally got the time to go there and try their omelets. Omelegg is located at the Ferdinand Bolstraat on the part south of the Ceintuurbaan. Two hipster brothers (with lovely mustaches!) started Omelegg together and the concept is a huge success in Amsterdam. They use 3.000 eggs per week to make the delicious egg dishes!

Omelegg Amsterdam: the first omeletterie in town!

When I firs heard of Omelegg it made me think of an omeletterie I once went to in Madrid. But this place is so much cooler! On the menu you find so many different omelets that it’s hard to pick the most delicious one. I decided to try something completely new. An omelet with smoked salmon and dille called ‘The Viking Fisherman’. Omelets are served with a choice of corn or whole wheat bread. My omelet was delicious and exactly the proper food after my night of partying the day before. On my next visit to Omelegg I’m going to try the Shakshuka with spicy chorizo that my love had. It smelled and looked solo good!

What I really loved about Omelegg is the cool interior design. The place has a vintage farm style interior with a lot of wooden elements and a great open kitchen. There are notebooks for guest comments hanging above the tables. Funny to read everyone’s experiences! There are some really talented guests at Omelegg ;-).
