New year, new chances. In 2018 there will be a lot of new, fun movies in the cinemas. YES! With these rainy and cold days it’s the perfect time to go to the movies! We listed the best movies to watch this month in the cinema. Whether you have movie night with friends or a date with your lover, you want to see these movies!

Where you can watch these movies? We named it for you! But of course these movies play in more cities than just Amsterdam. These are the must see movies for this month.

These are six movies that you want to see this January. From exciting action movies to the real deal feel good ones.

The Greatest Showman (from January 4)

The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman in the lead, is a musical spectacle inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum. Barnum was a visionary who could develop himself from nothing into the brain behind ‘the biggest show in the world’, an enchanting spectacle and the celebration of his living fantasy. A performance that appealed to a worldwide audience. We can’t wait to see this movie!

Downsizing (from January 25)

In Downsizing, Norwegian scientists discover how, as a solution to overpopulation, they can shrink people to a length of almost 13 centimeters. The plan is to introduce this worldwide in 200 years. In the hope of a better life, the everyday Paul Safranek, played by Matt Damon, and his wife Audrey, abandon their stressed existence in Omaha to settle into a new miniature community – a decision that leads to life-changing adventures.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure (from January 25)

Finally! After a long wait we can go to the last part of the Maze Runner this month. In the epic finale of the Maze Runner saga, Thomas leads his group of escaped Larders on their last and most dangerous mission to date. To save their friends, they must break into the Last City. This WCKD-controlled labyrinth is perhaps the most deadly maze of all. Everyone who comes out alive will get answers to the questions that the Larders have had since they first arrived in the maze (and so did we).

Call Me by Your Name (from January 11)

The seventeen year old Elio and his parents spend the summer in the Italian countryside. When Oliver, a handsome American research assistant, comes to Italy to work with Elio’s learned father, Elio is immediately intrigued. He finds excuses to spend time with Oliver and there is a flirtatious tension between the two. When their togetherness leads to a playful and meaningful first kiss, Elio no longer knows what to do with himself.

Huisvrouwen Bestaan Niet

Gijsje is a young, ambitious control freak who really wants to get pregnant and make a career at the advertising agency where she works. Her older sister Marjolein is married, has three children and has just lost her job as a journalist. Her new ambition: becoming a stay-at-home mom. Their bohemian mother, Loes, is in trouble with too many mortgages on the beautiful family home she lives in. Gijsje and Marjolein find the idea that they might lose their family home unbearable and look for opportunities to keep it. We’ve been to the premiere of this film and can absolutely recommend it! ;-)

All the Money in the World (from January 11)

Oil tycoon J.P. Getty is the richest man in the world. When in the summer of 1973 his grandson is kidnapped in Rome by the Italian mafia, they demand 17 million dollars in ransom. The billionaire, however, refuses to pay anything, after which the family receives the cut ear from the boy. Desperately, his mother Gail decides to negotiate with the kidnappers together with the help of an ex-CIA agent.
