3 x markets in Newcastle not to miss

17 September 2015

the weekend is for strolling past these markets in newcastle!

If you ask me, markets are the perfect thing to visit on a Sunday or a Saturday in a foreign city. Nibbling on some street food strolling past weekend markets from stall to stall. And to stay for more drinks afterwards. There is always such a relaxed nice vibe on local markets! What I really like is when they sell locally made products from designers or nice food things to take home with me. In Newcastle there are a few nice markets which I write about in this blog!

The Boiler Steamer Newcastle

Markets settled in old warehouses are also very popular in Newcastle! And if you ask me, the Boiler Steamer is one of the nicest markets in town. Live music, lots of street food, craft beer and the trendy faces of Newcastle. Check the website for dates!  Our favourite spots COOP Chicken Housen and Fat Hippo are there too on a regular base.

Quayside Market

Every Sunday from 9am-4pm you can stroll past market stalls on the Quayside at the Quayside market. Local food and handmade items. Nice for souvenirs! Alongside the Quayside the view on the different bridges is amazing so I can recommend you to make a stroll along the water on a Lazy Sunday!

Grainger Market Newcastle

In Amsterdam we have the De Foodhallen in Newcastle they have Grainger Market. Not as trendy (not yet) and more a spot for locals to get their groceries, but fun to have a look at. And… more and more trendy spots are coming. So I predict you to keep an eye on this market! Also nice: this market is situated in the middle of the centre!
