Lay Lao Bangkok: hip Thai eatery

7 October 2014

Spicy Thai food in Ari!

I love to discover new food hotspots! So when I passed by Lay Lao in the Ari neighbourhood I just had to go in. This eatery only had traditional Thai food. And no English menu. They only have photos of the dishes to show you what it is.

The raw crab looked delicious but I decided to go for a bit safer choice and ordered the grilled squid and deep fried mushroom. Both delicious and the dishes are perfect to share!

The interior design at Lay Loa in Bangkok is really nice. Vintage chairs and couches with pillows made of Vlisco print. On the wall they have a wall painting of a crab. On the lamps hang dried chili peppers. This place is super cosy!

When I was at Lay Lao for lunch there are only Thai people. I’m the only foreigner!

Tip: close to Lay Lao you find the cool coffee bar Porcupine Cafe.
