tropical and industrial meet in this spot in Amsterdam north
We recently published our guide with 23 not to miss hotspots in Amsterdam North, but it seems like we can add another one! Hangar Amsterdam: a just opened restaurant in Amsterdam North. The restaurant was built in an old hangar and looks awesome! That’s not weird: one of the owners of Hangar is Tim Immers, the man who created Bar Moustache too. The industrial and raw vibe that Amsterdam North is known for matches perfectly with the warmth of the Southern European dishes on the menu.

The Instagram-page of Hangar functioned as a moodboard before it opened. Styling expert Stella Willing (the woman who also designs the beautiful collectable collections by Scotch) is behind this. Our expectations have been met. A bit of green, a bit of brown, a bit tropical. Tropical meets industrial! The corrugated iron plates that decorate the hangar are created in a beautiful patchwork design made of brown and green colours.

On the menu? At Hangar they work with products of the season, to make it taste as good and tasteful as possible. The pure flavours are inspired by the French and Italian kitchen, but with North-African influences. Makes you feel warm from the inside, right? We are especially very excited to try out the risotto with mushrooms, parmesan cheese and anis. Enjoy your visit to North!
