First it were burgers, then followed the ribs and then the rotisseries arrived in Amsterdam. And now it’s time for another trend, the trend of the fresh fish. Because suddenly one after another fish concept pops up. Delicious oysters, posh fish trays or the simple fish and chips. There’s everything! And, moreover, hard to keep track. So therefor we felt it was time for a fish list! Check below for 9 x hotspots for fish in Amsterdam!

Open less than two weeks at the Rozengracht in Amsterdam: Pesca Amsterdam. A unique fish concept, because this is in fact the country’s first fish theatre. Here you can pick out your fish at various stalls. Fresh salmon, tuna, mackerel, plaice, redfish, cod and shelfish… Then you can sit and enjoy a drink while your fresh fish is being prepared. How good is that?

Within walking distance of the Westerpark, at the Limburg of Stirumplein you’ll find a true recommendation for anyone who loves fish dishes. No fancy stuff though and it’s nothing like a English fish & chip cafe either. Go here for a nice atmosphere and great food cause here they know how to cook!

When talking about fish The Chippy Amsterdam is fresher than fresh. This brand new spot will open its doors later this week – May 21 – on the Kinkerstraat. From then on you can enjoy fish & chips dishes here, fully prepared in the traditional way. And therefor the dishes will be served, as they should be, wrapped in newspapers, how cool! You can choose from all the classic fish & chips. Such as the different fish species as cod, haddock, plaice and many more!

Because the three entrepreneurs behind Beet want to make the gap between the traditional fish specialist – which closes at 18 hrs – and the expensive seafood restaurant a bit smaller.
