13 March 2017

the best falafel in amsterdam is waiting for you!

Who would have thought that the fried balls made of mashed chickpeas and/or broad beans would gain this much popularity in our little country? Because vegetarian or not, everyone has eaten falafel at least once! Amsterdam has a couple of fine falafel valhalla’s that are besides fun also very tasty! That’s why we went out and made a list of 8 x the best falafel in Amsterdam! Enjoy!

8 X FALAFEL IN AMSTERDAM THAT YOU WANT TO ORDER

Hummus Bistro:  this small restaurant in the Jordaan serves the most amazing hummus, and the best falafel! The Hummus Bistro is perfect for shared dining. For 15 euros you can try a bit of everything. Besides falafel you can also get, for example, 5 different kinds of hummus, labane, shakshuka, and grilled eggplant. Yum!

Mana Mana: looking for a hi vegetarian restaurant with tasty falafel? You just found it! The falafel at Mana Mana is prepared perfectly: crunchy on the outside, and soft and creamy on the inside. Tip: not in the mood for an entire meal? They also serve a plate with just falafel and sauce. Perfect!

Mana Mana

Restaurant Artist: You’ll find Restaurant Artis in The Pijp, next to the Sarphatipark on the corner of the Tweede Jan Steenstraat. A family restaurant that’s already been in the street for 40 years. You can order a really good mezze table here, in which you’ll get meat skewers and delicious rice with chicken, and really, really good falafel.

JD Williams Whisky Bar: You can go to JD Williams Whisky bar in the center for Korean dishes to share and whisky (cocktails). You can order dishes like bourbon glazed pork ribs, and the edamame falafel taco. It’s so good you can eat two!

Bar Kauffman: Amsterdams first hotspot that is all about falafel. For lunch we usually get the sandwich that you can put together yourself. Extra nice: they have a crazy amount of special beers here, and a nice terrace where you can sit in the sun all day. Perfect combination!

Bazar: Wow! When you walk into Bazar you really enter a magical Eastern world. Bright colored tables, warm, cosy lighting and beautiful plates. The dishes are mainly from North Afrika and the Middle East. And that means we can go for our favorite combo: falafel with couscous!

Burgermeester: Do you really like burgers, but aren’t always in the mood for meat? Burgermeester has the perfect solution: their delicious falafel burger with beans and parmesan. Extra tasty: add jalapeños as topping, that’ll make your burger even better!

SLA: Of course SLA can’t be left out from this list of the best falafel in Amsterdam. Here you can put together your own salad, or choose from the menu. We love to go there for the falafel salad with spinach and pomegranate dressing. So good!
