De Vergulden Eenhoorn Amsterdam: the perfect city escape close to home

17 July 2017

At De Vergulden Eenhoorn Amsterdam you forget the chaos of the city

When you need or just want to go away for the weekend, but do want to stay close to home, De Vergulden Eenhoorn Amsterdam is the perfect place to go with your lover or even friends. A bed & breakfast, in Amsterdam, where you can escape from the chaos of the city. Even for a nice dinner you don’t have to go back to the big city ’cause De Vergulden Eenhoorn is also a good restaurant!

De Vergulden Eenhoorn is a farm from 1702 that has had different purposes for the last years. Think of a gather house and childcare. Since 2015 it’s a restaurant and now also a nice bed & breakfast. In the cowshed of the farm you can have dinner, in the courtyard close to the haymow and in the garden you can have a picknick when the sun is shining and in the monumental house you can sleep in the new bed & breakfast.

The team behind this city escape, known from Hanneke’s Boom and Cannibale Royale, always had the aim to transform the farm into a place where everybody from the city can sit back and relax. And even though the farm has been fully restored through the years, it never lost its old charm. The bedsteads for example, are made into closets and every room has a secret cabinet where guests can pick up their breakfast in a picknick basket in the morning to eat in bed or in the garden.

The bed & breakfast of De Vergulden Eenhoorn Amsterdam has four rooms with a double bed ánd an attic with two more beds. Handy if the kids tag along or for a nice weekend away with friends. Have fun!
