13 June 2023

Best rooftops in Amsterdam from East to West

It’s summer! And that means that drinks can be served along the canals, on the terraces, in the gardens and parks and on the balconies. YES! But also of course the rooftops in Amsterdam can’t be forgotten. Inspired by the many rooftops in New York the number of rooftops in Amsterdam is growing and growing. We  love it!

10 X best ROOFTOPS IN AMSTERDAM to have a drink

Bret: at Bret you can’t just eat in the restaurant. No, they also have a nice rooftop that you can sit at. Enjoy the view, your surroundings and the great atmosphere. This red container can’t be missed in Amsterdam West!

Restaurant Moon: Moon is the rotating restaurant located on the 19th floor of the A’DAM Tower, where you can expect a unique fine dining experience with a spectacular 360˚ panorama over Amsterdam. Perfect for an evening out with your lover!

GAPP: From this rooftop you can see the skyline of Amsterdam and the Amstel. There are tables, but also enough place to organize your own picnic. A picnic with a beautiful view! Tip: try te salads they service. They are light and delicous for lovely summernights.

Zoku Hotel: The Zoku Hotel has a nice urban atmosphere. And that comes back in the rooftop as well. It’s a place with a great atmosphere to come together with your friends. Surrounded by green. Nice fact: in the green house on the rooftop they grow  vegetables that they serve in the Living Kitchen!

Skylounge: At this fancy rooftop bar of the Double Tree Hilton hotel you can drink amazing cocktails and have some delicious sushi! In mood for a party? There’s a dj every evening for a good vibe. Up for a little dance? The view will show you the heart of the city. When it’s getting darker in the evening you’ll slowly see all the lights being turned on. It couldn’t be cosier.

On The Roof:On The Roof is a festival that will take place on the rooftop of  an industrial building in Amsterdam-North. We love this mini-festival and can’t wait to visit it again. While musicians from all over the world perform, you can see the sun set and dance. How fun! Check the link below for dates and tickets. Will we see you there?

W Lounge:This place is definitely one of our favorite rooftops in Amsterdam. It is based in the center of Amsterdam and you can enjoy the view, drinks and food the whole day! We love to celebrate the weekend at this place with a cocktail and high heels. Extra tip: don’t forget to take a picture near de swimming pool!

Nemo:A rooftop definitely worth checking out is the one from the museum Nemo! From 22 meter above you’ll have an amazing view over the Oosterdok and the historical center of Amsterdam. You’d need to climb a bit for it, about 120 steps on the stairs, but trust me it’s worth it!

Bureau:A brand new one in the list: At The Bureau Amsterdam at the Johan Huizingalaan. Together with the best cups of coffee you’ll enjoy yourself some good lunch and dinner here. Looking for an inspirational place? Well, at Bureau you definitely found it!

Canvas op de 7e:This rooftop in Amsterdam East is stays my favourite! Good weather coming up? Then make sure to be here quick. The rooftop terrace is almost always packed. Thanks to the laid back atmosphere that’s always here. It’s the place for a fun evening with your friends, while sitting at the wooden picknick tables with some beers.
