Barrica Amsterdam: for Mediterranean tapas and wine in West

23 January 2017

at Barrica Amsterdam you’re getting that summer feeling

Barrica Amsterdam opened her doors not so long ago in West and of course we had to check it out to try and taste the menu. Barrica, Wine & Foodbar, makes its name proud. ‘Cause not only the Italian and Spanish wines on the menu and the lovely tapas and Italian dishes are giving you that Mediterranean feeling, also the interior is making you feel like you’re abroad. When we walked in we got surprised by the huge wine bottles where you can see the wine menu on. There’s bar seating and long tables that welcome everyone for walk-in dinners. The lights are dimmed and the place looks so cozy. Perfect for a date night!

The steak tartare is a must try at barrica amsterdam, TRUST US

But back to the food. As usual we weren’t able to choose so we trusted the waiter with our first course. Oysters. Yikes! Every time I’m trying, every time im failing. I just don’t like them. No worries, Your;bb’s Anne will eat them all, #feedanne!

After the oysters and bubbles we were ready for the main dishes. On the menu of Barrica you can find famous tapas and antipasti dishes. that are all medium sized and perfect for sharing. We had the burrata, Italian eggplant lasagna, cod in tomato sauce and steak tartare. All delicious! Make sure you get the steak tartare, very good just as all the other dishes we had. And they’re not only delicious, they also look beautiful. Really nice: te dishes are made by a chef who’s in his early twenties. We think it’s a talent to watch!

Barrica_amsterdam_6Barrica Amsterdam is a lovely restaurant with good wine and really good food. We didn’t really expect something different from the little sister of Dikke Graaf. You can find Barrica, Wine & Foodbar in West at the Wilhelminastraat 109. Cheers!

New: Because we always know new restaurants are coming, but there’s almost no information available, we’re sharing a list with all the new restaurants where you can eat soon. Stay up to date!
