Bar Leijten Amsterdam: for a Brabant atmosphere on the terrace

27 March 2017

Bar Leijten Amsterdam FOR A COLD BEER IN THE SPRING SUN

Bar Leijten Amsterdam, with a showstopper terrace, is finally open! Bar Leijten Amsterdam is a new restaurant on the Schinkelkade/Sluisstraat in Old South, next to Vondelpark and is your new place to be for a delicious beer in the Spring sun. The terrace isn’t just big, but also has quite a few hours of sun. So nice!

The two brothers Sjeng and Clint Leijten decided to translate their love for Brabant into a restaurants and they’re definitely succeeded. Because when we think of Brabant, we especially think about sitting on a terrace for hours, in the sun, with a portion of bitterballs and a good beer. Bar Leijten Amsterdam proudly ticks these things off the list. They don’t only have a nice terrace where you can spend the entire afternoon, but they also have a menu with recognisable French and Dutch dishes and a very extensive bites menu and good wine and beer.

Bar Leijten Amsterdam for bitterballs and frog legs

What can we order on the terrace? Of course, bitterballs, cheese croquettes and cheese sticks, but also frog legs, a pan with mussels and cassava. In other words, there’s enough to try. You can also go to Bar Leijten for lunch and dinner, and we can tell you that there’s very tasty dishes on the menu. Baba ganoush, skin fried sea bass with green asparagus and mashed potato, and get ready for it.. a magnum made from lemongrass and caramel. Hmm!

Is the sun out? Gather your friends and take a seat on the terrace, try the bites menu and the beers at Bar Leijten!
