CLOSED // Auberge Jean & Marie Amsterdam: not to miss French bistro

1 March 2017

Update: Auberge Jean & Marie closed its doors in September 2023

AUBERGE JEAN MARIE AMSTERDAM IS ALREADY  A CLASSIC

Do you love French cuisine? Then Auberge Jean & Marie is a restaurant where you’ll want to go ASAP. You’ll find this lovely restaurant on the area of the Albert Cuypstraat where there are no stands. After a big reconstruction, Auberge Jean Marie Amsterdam is exactly what you’d expect to see when you hear the name. A French restaurant with a classic French menu and a home-y vibe. Think of good wines, white tablecloths, and even more good wine. With the delicious dishes from the kitchen, the extensive wineroom, and the friendly staff they really want to make you feel like a God in France.

I recently went for an extensive Sunday lunch at Auberge Jean Marie. What a feast! During lunch they serve all the dishes from the dinner menu which makes this restaurant a great choice if you want to have a big lunch in the weekend. With multiple courses and perfectly paired wines.

On the menu they offer real French dishes with a modern twist that are prepared so perfectly by the Chef that you’ll want to lick your plate clean (no joke!). Start your afternoon or evening with a glass of bubbles to make it even more festive. For € 34,50 you’ll get an entrée, plat, and dessert at Auberge Jean & Marie, and for € 42,50 you’ll get another dessert with it. We chose to be surprised with the menu and I can definitely recommend to try it as well. Would you rather have something from the menu though? It changes regularly, but if the frog legs are on there then you should definitely try them. I ate them for the first time at Auberge Jean & Marie, and it surely won’t be the last time.
