  • One of the foodie highlights this weekend is without a doubt the street food festival at DOK in Amsterdam West. On Saturday September 2 between 1 PM and 11 PM this is the right place  for lots of good food and drinks. Free entrance! Check our blog for more info here.
  • For those who prefer to have drinks with friends, there is also the terrace festival in the Oosterpark! On September 1, 2 & 3 you can go to the most fun terraces of our favourite hotspots, such as Cafe Panache and Terpentijn, but also classics like Cafe Nol and Finch. Which cafes participate? You can read it here!
  • Feel like drinking and dancing after work on Friday? Then you want to go to the terrace festival on Friday, because on September 1 there will be the ‘Vrijmibodisco voor gevorderden‘!
  • And there is more fun for the foodies in Amsterdam East! On Saturday September 2 there is the annual Food Night on the Javastraat and the Sumatrastraat. Always fun and lots of great food!
  • That the terrace of PARK Café-Restaurant is really nice is not a secret anymore, but did you know that the renovated Hotel Arena officially reopened this week? We were invited to stay the night and you can read about this in our blog. TIP: On Facebook you can win a hotel stay for 2 persons!
  • Do you want to get up to date in just a few minutes with all the new restaurant openings? Then check this list with 9 new hotspots.
  • More a breakfast and lunch person? These are the 6 newest spots for the early birds and lunch lovers!
  • Till September 2 you can go to island Pampus with the boat for a culinary surprise evening at pop-up restaurant Zomerlicht. No boat? No worries. You will be picked up with the motor clipper Sailboa at IJburg and you’ll arrive 30 minutes later at Pampus.
  • Oeh-la-la so many great food places have opened their doors over the past few weeks. We are still very busy visiting them all for a full report, but have you been to these new hotspots yet?
  • Do you tend to often hang out in your own neighbourhood during the weekend? We et you! But Amsterdam is so diverse that it’s nice to try to discover another part of the city too and that’s why we updated some of our favourite street blogs for you!

  • Not this weekend, but if you want to be here (and you do!), this is the time to score tickets for one of the shows. YES, the Amsterdam Fringe Festival will start again on September 7.
  • Until September 23 you can go to Legends Passed at Eduard Planting Galerie, they give a tribute to legends that are no longer with us. Think of Prince, David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, Chuck Berry, Johan Cruijff and Roger Moore. Let yourself be enchanted by seeing nostalgic portraits of the legends that we still miss each day.
  • Come to Streets of the World of Jeroen Swolfs until September 30. Streets of the World is a project by Dutch photojournalist Jeroen Swolfs. Over the last 7 years, the photographer traveled around the world to take pictures of street life in every capital of the world. 195 photos and 195 countries later, he wants to give the world a new, positive perspective of the world now that the negative images are spreading daily through the news. Make a trip through different countries and cities based on his special photos.
