Delight Yoga Amsterdam: find your balance!

23 July 2014

Always busy, always stress… and then I rediscovered yoga!

Questions I get on a weekly basis from followers and friends are how I manage my life,  if it’s true that I’m always working and when I sleep. Which made me realise… yes, I’m always working.

I just doesn’t feel like work. The moments that I do completely nothing and clear my mind are rare though… very rare.

What does it actually mean… clearing your mind? And for someone who’s attached to her smartphone doing nothing is not in my vocabulary. Not the healthiest thing. Time for a change!

When I’m travelling or on holiday, like last year in Bali, I like to practise yoga. It makes me very relaxed and I always feel more balanced. With the opening of a new yoga studio in my neighbourhood I decided to start with it in Amsterdam too.

Delight Yoga Studio Amsterdam
Delight Yoga recently opened their third yoga studio in Amsterdam West. They already had location in Amsterdam East and the city centre as well. What I really like is that you can sign up for classed at all three location. Perfect when I have a business meeting on the other side of town!

With yoga I created my moments when I do completely nothing. As in no smartphone, no internet, just me myself and a clear mind. After a few lessons clearing my head is going better and better every time.

At Delight Yoga they make yoga accessible for a large audience. From mothers, to hipsters and from bankers to students. The lessons are very diverse. Perfect, because this helps you experimenting what kind of lesson works best for you. Delight Yoga offers lessons on all levels, from (new) beginners like me to highly advanced.

I started with the introduction to Yoga course which has a 2 hour kick off lesson and 5 regular lessons to go over the basics. You can also buy an introduction card for 10 lessons in one month. Both introduction courses only cost € 50,-!

Another option is an unlimited yoga membership or a card for 10 lessons. The last one is perfect for me especially since I’m travelling a lot and not always in town.

The studio’s of Delight Yoga are also pretty cool looking. And you understand that I also like that aspect ;-). After the lessons you feel really welcome to hang around for a bit with a cup of tea!

I will keep you posted about my yoga experience. Hopefully this summer and fall I will find my balance again between a job, a blog and a fun life. And that I will get a trained body is a nice benefit as well of course ;-)!
