Discover hidden gems on the Brownstone Brooklyn food tour!
Whenever I’m in New York I always book a food tour with the guys from Urban Oyster. I discovered them via NYCgo.com and did the Waterfront tour with them in the summer. (Check out the blog here). So I was very excited to find out about their new tour to Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens. These are real local neighborhoods in Brooklyn where you find hardly any tourists. Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens are known for the vibrant mix of locally owned artisanal food shops. Most of them with Italian and Middle Eastern influences. At some places you almost feel like being in an episode of the Soprano’s. Love it!
On the food tour which takes up to 3 hours you will discover the best foodie addresses in Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens.
Here’s a photo report with our favourite places!
1) Brooklyn Farmacy – Soda Fountain: try an original soda!
2) Ted & Honey: try the pulled pork sandwich!
3) Damascus Bakery – for delicious spinach snacks! 4) One Girl Cookies: a cookie jewelry store! 5) 61 local: try the famous Brooklyn pickles! 6) Stinky: for the best cheese and charcuterie in Brooklyn!
Tip: a great Italian restaurant with a beautiful garden in the summer is Frankies Spuntino! Read the blog about this hotspot here.
