5&33 brunch

Amsterdam

Every Sunday: boozy brunch at 5&33 with special Bloody Marys!

30 July 2016

sunday’s are  for lazy brunches with cocktails and comfort food

You can always wake me up for a good brunch! Especially when there are cocktails involved. And that’s why we went for brunch to 5&33 in Amsterdam. Still one of the nicest hotelrestaurants in town and located on a perfect and very central location near Central Station. The dining area is super cosy with a lot of dark furniture that gives it that “London chic” feel! But during the day you can usually find me in the bar area when I’m there. And that’s also where the brunch is served!

We started our brunch with a good coffee and went straight for the cocktails after that. De cocktail list at 5&33 is impressive and did you know they host G&T workshops as well? Nice, but for brunch I personally always prefer a classic Bloody Mary! On Sunday during brunch hours (the brunch starts at noon) they have a special Bloody Marys list. What do you think of a Smokey Mary with liquid smoke or a Lady Mary with Hendrick’s Gin? Sounds good, right?

When it comes to food, the brunch menu at 5&33 holds several classics. Of course they have dishes with egg. You can’t do without on a brunch menu! But since we wanted to do starters and mains we both decided to order a salad and a pasta. Although the avocado toast with poached egg or the Eggs Benedict sounded great as well!

I decided to order a Caesar Salad as a starter and my love went for the burrata, that dish is a must try at 5&33. For the main dishes there’s a wide choice from sea bass to chicken and Côte de Boeuf or risotto and ravioli. I can never resist a good ravioli so I went for the one with eggplant, goat cheese and basil. Very delicious!
