Looking for a restaurant in Amsterdam for the holidays? At these 16 restaurants you can book a table online!

Book a table for christmas, nye or any other day

Anyone who has celebrated Christmas or New Years Eve in another country will definitely recognize this. Finding a nice restaurant that’s open and where you can easily make a reservation can be a challenge. In cities like New York or London I always use OpenTable. On this website it’s super easy to make a reservation at great restaurants. Because on the website you can see exactly when a table is still available and at the same time if the restaurant is open during the holidays.

Good news for everyone who, just like me, secretly hates calling to restaurants to make reservations. You can now also book restaurants in Amsterdam via OpenTable! Especially for this festive month I’ve made an overview of restaurants that I personally like to visit and that can be booked via OpenTable, and I will add some tips on the best dishes or the best table in the restaurant.

16 x restaurants in Amsterdam where you can book online

Lottis: One of my standard go-to’s for lunch is Lottis on the Herengracht in Amsterdam. This restaurant is situated in the Hoxton hotel and serves breakfast all day through! The ravioli of the dinner menu (that differs per season) remains my favourite.

Wyers Restaurant & Bar: Luckily there are opening more and more restaurants in the city center where you can have a gerat dinner. If you’re going to Wyers Restaurant & Bar definitely reserve a spot at the bar with a view of the wood fire where they grilled the most delicious pieces of meat. Also fun to do: have a cocktail before or after dinner in the House Bar.

Bluespoon: My favourite table at Bluespoon to have an extensive dinner with friends is the Chefs Table. What you definitely will want to try? The steak tartare from the Dutch cow!

L’invité: In the cozy Jordaan you’ll get to taste delicious French dishes at L’invité. I personally recommend the tasting menu!

Pikoteo: Going out for a great dinner on December 31st and hangout there afterwards with a nice cocktail? You’ll want to go to Pikoteo! This stays one of our favourites anyway, a spot that we need to visit ourselves as well really soon!

Partisan: Also a great spot for New Years Eve in the West of Amsterdam is Partisan. This wine bar serves delicious dishes and you almost imagine yourself in Paris when it comes to the vibe here!

Impero Romano: The past years there have been several restaurants in this establishment, but if you ask me Impero Romano is a keeper. It’s always crowded here, so a reservation is an absolute must. Have an aperitif before dinner at the bar and definitely try the pasta with Parmesan cheese that’s being prepared at your table!

Panache: Would you like to have a nice dinner and celebrate the new year at the bar afterwards? At Panache in the West of Amsterdam you can reserve a table via OpenTable. Are you with a larger group? If so, request one of the round tables!

5&33: A lover of Italian food is at the right spot at 5&33. Chef nadia serves dishes here that contain the authentic flavour of Sicily! Tip: ask the team to ask a fitting cocktail and during the winter you can have a great seat at the cozy fireplace.

Taiko Amsterdam

Taiko

closed during the holidays, but still our favourite!

These restaurants are closed during the holidays, but are reservable via OpenTable and a favourite at our office. That’s why they can’t be missed out on in this list.

Taiko: If you’re going to have dinner at Taiko in the Conservatorium Hotel I can recommend you to try the tasting menu that’s all about the King Crab. Without a doubt one of the best menus I’ve had in Amsterdam the past year!

Guts & Glory: If you want to have a culinary evening around the corner of the hectic Rembrandt square you have to go to Guts & Glory in the Utrechtsestraat. Choose the elaborate menu with suited wines and you’re guaranteed of a great evening!

Ron Gastrobar Oriental: Of all the gastrobars I’ve honestly got to say that this is one of my favourites! The Peking Duck is so good! And I’ve got to mentioned the gyozas as well. Whenever I visit this place I prefer sitting at the bar with my lover.

Café Dinard: A nice spot for drinks and then staying around for way longer than intended. At Café Dinard you order the delicious seafood as a snack and the evening isn’t complete without a platter with a selection of oysters!

The Lobby Fizeaustraat: There aren’t many hotel restaurants in Amsterdam that locals actually visit, but The Lobby is definitely one of those. This restaurant is also perfect for anyone who doesn’t live in Amsterdam and comes here by car.

Bar Carter: The vibe of a brown café, but with great food. Bar Carter is always cozy and fun! The sharing plates are a recommendation and the burrata is an absolute must try.

Breda: Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam of the moment. Perfect for a special dinner if you have something to celebrate, but also perhaps for a Saturday afternoon for an extensive lunch with accompanied wines!
