Bo Nam Amsterdam: must-visit for delicious Vietnamese food

5 December 2016

A nice restaurant in the city center? Meet Bo nam amsterdam

One day I hope to travel around Vietnam. It’s high in my bucket-list for 2017! One of the reasons for that is that I LOVE Vietnamese food. Luckily for me I don’t have to travel all the way to Vietnam for that. For my Vietnamese food cravings I’m going to Bo Nam in de Lange Leidsedwarsstraat now. And while finding a hot restaurant in the heart of the city center can be hard, restaurant tycoon Casper Reinders did it again. Twice the past few months, because he also opened another hotspot at the Spuistraat called Blue Boy. Also a great choice, but today I’m telling you all about Bo Nam!

The location of Bo Nam is not completely new. I think you probably know the location of Bo Nam already. This le bistro Viet Namien opened in the front part of restaurant classic Bo Cinq. Two restaurant concept under one roof.

On the menu of Bo Nam you find delicious Vietnamese dishes with international influences. All dishes are perfect for sharing, which I always like when it’s about Asian food and I have a date night with my love. Order around four small to medium dishes, two large dishes and share the dessert and you will be satisfied when you’re done. What to expect on the menu of Bo Nam in Amsterdam? Oysters fromBo Nam, fresh Spring Rolls with surf ‘n turf or fish, steak tartare, scallop salad, pineapple salad, Pho Bo Nam, Spare Ribs and Mekong Shrimp to share some expamles. Make sure to leave some room for dessert because the Lemongrass Crème Brulee is delicious and original. My personal favourites I tried so far? You can find them in the pictures below! The Imperial Rolls, Spring Roll Tuna, Grilled Red Pepper Dorade, Spare Ribs, Steak Tartare and Pineapple Salad are enough reason for me to go back soon.

If you know the other restaurants of Casper Reinders, like Lion Noir, you know that the interior design is always unique and spot on. At Bo Nam Amsterdam you will be surprised by the art on the walls and the mural of Skulljan. If you’re going with friends make sure to reserve one of the booths in the front and if it’s just the two of you I like the small tables in the back the best. For this newest hotspot Reinders teamed up with Bao An Nguyen Phuoc, Nghia Huynh, Thuan Hoang en  Ho Kai Yen who are known from Dynasty, Lion Noir en Woo Bros.

The address of Bo Nam in Amsterdam is Lange Leidsedwarsstraat 53-59.
