3 X the best food markets in Chicago for your next city trip

Food Markets Chicago

FROM FARMERS MARKETS TO SUNDAY MARKETS AND INDOOR FOOD MARKETS!

In every city I go to for Your Little Black Book I look for the best food markets. Chicago is a real foodie city and so also has a lot of good food markets! At one of the food markets, Chicago French Market, i had a poké bowl. It’s an indoor food  market that reminded me a little bit of markets like the Chelsey Market and Gansevoort Market in New York. When you walk past the stands you’re overwhelmed by all of the deliciousness that it’s really difficult to choose something. Are you going to eat it inside or taking it to go to eat it in a park? Are you in Chicago during the weekend? Then it’s definitely worth it to check out if there are any Sunday markets or farmers markets. Some markets move to an indoor location in the wintertime, but others are open from around March to August, when the weather is nicer. Mix with the locals and try the tastiest ingredients that are fresh from the country!

3 X de beste food markten in Chicago om niet te missen:

Green City Market: The Green City Market is the real deal in Chicago. The market already exists for 18 years! In the summer there are two outside locations in West Loop and close to Lincoln Park, and in the wintertime you’ll find the market in the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. At the Green City Market you buy food that really came straight from the farmer. Nice to know: a lot of Chefs in Chicago also shop at this market!
Lincoln Park // every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 Am to 1 PM from May to October
West Loop // every Saturday from 8 Am to 1 PM from June to October
Indoor market // in the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum from November to April

Glenwood Sunday Market: for those of you who want to get out of the ‘city’ can go to the Glenwood Sunday Market. This Farmers Market can be found in the Rogers Park neighbourhood outside the center of Chicago. Go to the beach after your visit to the market to relax!
Every Sunday from June to October 9 AM – 2 PM

The French Market: Are you crazy about indoor foor markets, just like me? And do you want to go to one in every city that you visit? Then The French Market in Chicago is a great idea! Nice for lunch, but also if you want to eat something in the evening and don’t want to spend too much. Also make sure to check out Aloha Poké. So good!
