Weekend tips for July 31 and August 1 & 2

The first weekend of August is of course all about the Gay Pride! And luckely the rainy days are over and so we’ll have a (somewhat) sunny weekend again! Do you still remember last year? At dawn it was pouring rain. We’ll have more luck this weekend :-) The sun also means good news for food festival Amsterdam Kookt that’s starting this Thursday! BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE FOOD– Did you read our blog about the secret restaurant Appartement K? On Friday they have the next dinner planned! Make sure you book your seat at the table.

– Friday and Saturday are all about the Gay Pride! On Friday there is the HeBiHo Vrijmibo at the Amstelveld and Saturday we’re of course checking out the (boat) parade!

– From Saturday until August 29, Vette Vis is organizing (outdoors) cinema evenings at Het Ketelhuis. Entrance is free, but come in time to get yourself a good spot!

– Learn a second language and meet new people at the same tim? Go to the Amsterdam Language Cafe, this time in Cafe Belcampo at the Filmhallen! An socializing event with music, food and drinks.

– Woody Allen is becoming 80 this year and the EYE is celebrating that with around 25 film screenings including the premiere of Woody Allen’s latest film Irrational Man. Until September 9 you can watch the comedies of Woody Allen.

– On Saturday you can go to ZOOmeravonden at Artis again! Until the end of August the zoo will be open every Saturday until sunset so you can listen to music and do other fun activities.

– Have you been to Vondelpark Openlucht Theater? Until September 27 you can go here for free music, theater, dance and cabaret performances.

Live At started in the Amsterdam Forest! This series of open air concerts in the Bostheater has some good artists in their line-up that you definitely don’t want to miss.

BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE SHOPPING– The cutest shops are at shopping street Gerard Doustraat! With shops like MiuseBloemWildAnna + NinaFelice, Charlie & Mary and Brick Lane

– For the best must-haves you need to go to Gathershop at the Van Woustraat! Here you’ll find some unique and handmade items.

BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE MUSEUM– Go to Foam for the recently opened expo Swinging Sixties London – Photography in the Capital of Coo. Until September 2nd.

– Must see: The Beauty of Pop exposition of  Frank E Hollywood at the gallery of 5&33!
