HELLO FRIDAY, I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU! >> friday drinks amsterdam

In Amsterdam we like a good drink. Especially on a Friday. After work we go straight to
a nice bar for a so called Friday after work drink. Craft beer in one hand, some bites in the other. Time to stress out after a busy working week and to catch up with friends or colleagues. But what are the best places to go for a drink on Friday? Check our blog with the best places for Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam.

Waterkant >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

The Friday afternoon drinks at Waterkant on the Marnixstreet are legendary! Here you can dance and drink until late hours with beers and Suriname bites. Waterkant is furthermore centrally located ánd by the waterside. Therefor it’s the perfect summer hotspot for a Friday afternoon drink.

Frits >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

The owners of Frits have a love for beers and burgers. So on Friday night I recommend you to sit down at their big terrace or inside by the bar, ordering beers and burgers. Make sure you’re on time; Friday afternoon drinks are often quit busy at Frits!

Bar Mash >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

De Pijp is a well known area for Friday Afternoon drinks. My favourite hotspot there is Bar Mash. A cozy little bar on Gerard Douwplein. You have to try their bitterballs! They were very good and not the typical Van Dobben brand but those smaller oldschool ones. And they fit perfectly with a cold craft beer.

Bukowski >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

This hotspot in Amsterdam East is an all time favourite for Friday afternoon drinks. Well, for every other night as well for that matter ;-) Bukowski is a great bar with an always relax vibe. Nice craft beers, snacks on the menu and if it’s sunny they have a small terrace outside!

LOUIE LOUIE >> friday after work drinks in amsterdam

If you’re in East anyway and the sidewalk at Bukowski is crowded… You can always go to Louie Louie. With their big terrace and the always cozy setting inside, this place has grown fast as the perfect place for your friday after work drinks. Another convenience: the little dishes on the menu are perfect as bar bite!

Graceland BAR-B-Q >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

Skip the familiar cozy livingroomcafe once a in a while and go for a Friday afternoon drink at Graceland BAR-B-Q! An authentic barbecue restaurant at the Marktkantine that reminds me of the roadhouses in Austin Texas. Here you’ll have a great night with barbeque dishes and music!

Checkpoint Charlie >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

We love Charlie, Checkpoint Charlie! A cozy livingroomcafe at the Naussaukade. Think of curry sausages, a small stage for performances and plenty of beer. A peace of Berlin in Amsterdam!

Smokin’ Barrels >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

This surf-and-turf restaurant has an enormous bar with several drinks for your Friday afternoon drink! To be found at the Beukenplein. On the menu of Smokin’ Barrels: lobster, burgers, salads, cocktails and craft beers. Perfect for your Friday night!

De Walvis >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

Another all time favourite: De Walvis at the Spaandammerbuurt. There is a fine mix of neighbours, hipsters and yuppies. The cafe looks tough, with large graffiti drawings on the walls. So the perfect place to drink some craft beers here on the Friday night with friends!

Louis >> Friday after work drinks in Amsterdam

On the Single you should go to Louis for a nice Friday afternoon drink! In this small and somewhat unfamiliar cafe is always so cozy! And good to know: there are nachos on the menu! The perfect Friday afternoon snack!

CAFÉ VRIJDAG >> FRIDAY AFTER WORK DRINKS IN AMSTERDAM

Yes, when talking about Friday after work drinks, Café Vrijdag cannot be missed. Because well, what’s in a name ;-) Always crowded and when the weather is good, it’s also crowded outside. The perfect pitstop for your Friday afternoon drinks on your way to the city!

WEESPER BAR & SPIJS >> Friday after work drinks in amsterdam

Weesper is the little brother of Café Vrijdag and therefore just as much fun to go and have drinks. The interior is inspired on the Wythe Hotel in New York, one of my faves. And besides the interior they’ve also understood the Friday drinks pretty well ;-) Here they serve small dishes and delicious drinks!

PLLEK AMSTERDAM >>friday after work drinks IN AMSTERDAM

And for anybody who works in North: of course there must be Friday after work drinks here as well! And then Pllek is your place to be. Here they celebrate the Friday with Feeling Friday. During the winter it’s warm and cosy here, during the summer you always want more and more and find yourself ended up in the city somewhere ;-)

5 x summer proof drinking in Amsterdam

The summer is peeking right around a corner. Just like the endless afternoons on the terrace with friends. These are the best hotspots in Amsterdam where you can get your white and specialty beers with the girls. Also a tip for if you want to be surrounded by handsome unshaved men ;-).

hannekes-boom

1 >> Hannekes Boom >>

What a delightful location is Hannekes Boom. It’s in the city center close to the station so it’s perfect if you’re meeting up with friends. Hang out at the long picnic tables with the girls or sit on the quay at the IJ with your legs up. Tip: if you have a boat you can also tie it up at Hannekes Boom.

anne-canvas

2 >> Canvas  >>

Maybe it’s because our office is really close to Amsterdam East, but on Friday afternoon we love having drinks at the rooftop bar Canvas at the Volkshotel. It’s the place to see the beautiful Sunday sunset in Amsterdam!

waterkant-amsterdam-1

3 >> Waterkant >>

Waterkant has only been open for a couple of years, but we already can’t imagine not having this tropical hotspot not being there anymore. It’s a fantastic drinking hangout for the ladies, because the amount of men there is plenty and of good quality. At least that’s what we think. And on Friday loads of people are here for the afternoon drinks. Tip: Waterkant is a bit Surinamese inspired and you definitely need to try out their Parbo Djogo. That’s a bottle of 1 liter beer that you can share with the girls!

4 >> Pllek >>

Whenever we’re in Amsterdam North, the girls and I always say to each other that we have to do that more often. Having fun with your feet in the sand at Pllek while enjoying the beautiful weather. Especially nice during Sundays! Because then they have live music which makes the atmosphere even more relaxed.

bier-bukowski

5 >> Bar Bukoswki >>

Since their opening, Bar Bukowski has been one of my favourite hotspots to get drinks with my girlfriends. The people coming here are fun, the staff is friendly and they have super delicious bites. Because with drinks you need to have delicious bites! Their Dirty Duck is a must-try and it’s very good with a cold beer!

So, there are plenty of spots where you can go now to catch up with your girlfriends with a cold beer and a portion of not-so-healthy bites! Cheers :-)
